Built for photobooth operators

The venue's wi-fi will drop. Your booth won't.

Boothiva runs the whole guest session on the booth itself — preview, countdown, capture, compose, print — with the network cable unplugged. The cloud is where you design templates, publish events and watch the fleet. It is never what stands between a guest and their print.

The platform

One place to design the print, run the event and account for every strip.

Boothiva is the back office and the booth software, built together. What you publish in the browser is exactly what comes out of the printer, because both ends render the same template from the same measurements.

Template editor

Lay out strips, 4×6s and postcards on a canvas measured in real millimetres, with an embedded font set that exists on every booth. The preview in your browser and the print on the dye-sub are checked against the same reference render, so what you approve is what guests take home.

Published snapshots

Events and templates are edited as drafts and published into immutable versions. Fix a typo during a reception and nothing changes on the booth mid-session — it stays pinned to v4 and picks up v5 between guests, when you say so.

Events & booths

Assign booths to events, activate a machine with a one-time code, and watch state arrive as it happens: sessions started, prints pulled, media remaining, last sync. A booth that loses signal keeps working and catches up on its own.

Your team, scoped

Owners, admins, event managers and booth operators — each with only the permissions the job needs. Every query is scoped to your tenant by the data layer itself, and a test suite sweeps every endpoint for cross-tenant leaks on each release.

Clients & invoicing

Keep the couple, the agency or the brand attached to the events they booked, and raise the invoice from the same record rather than retyping it into a separate ledger.

Audit history

Who published what, which booth accepted it and when support last looked at your account — recorded, timestamped and readable by you, not just by us.

A booking, end to end

Four steps between signing the client and handing over the first print.

The order matters here: nothing reaches a booth until you publish, and a booth never changes what it is running in the middle of a session.

STEP 1

Design the print

Build the template in the browser, drop in the client's logo and colours, and check it against the printed size.

STEP 2

Publish the event

Set the date, capture settings and print counts, then publish. That snapshot is now frozen and versioned.

STEP 3

Activate the booth

Enter an activation code on the Windows machine once. It downloads the event, the templates and the assets, and is ready to travel.

STEP 4

Run and sync

Guests shoot and print with no connection at all. Photos, counts and diagnostics upload themselves when there's signal again.

Composed on the booth

Four passes. One print. No connection.

A dye-sublimation printer doesn't spray ink — it feeds the paper past a thermal head once for each ribbon panel, laying colour down in layers and sealing it under a clear overcoat. Boothiva composes the page at 300 DPI on the booth itself and hands the printer the finished file. Nothing in that loop touches the internet.

Hardware support

A certified list, honestly labelled.

Camera and printer support is a certification programme, not a checkbox. We would rather name the hardware we test on every release than promise "all Canon cameras" and let you find out at a wedding.

HardwareWhat we supportStatus
UVC webcams Certified list of USB video-class cameras via Windows Media FoundationThe dependable capture path — tested every release Supported
DNP dye-sublimation DS-RX1HS through the Windows driver, with more models as we certify themPrint counts reported to the portal Supported
Generic photo printers Any Windows photo printer with a borderless 6×4 or strip sizeMedia telemetry depends on what the driver exposes Supported

Booth app requires Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Installs from a downloadable package and updates itself between guest sessions.

Pricing

Priced per operator, not per guest.

Session and print allowances are commercial signals, not gates. Go over on a busy month and the booth keeps printing — we'll tell you, and you can move up when it suits you.

Questions

The things operators actually ask us.

What happens if the venue has no internet at all?

The booth runs the entire session locally: live preview, countdown, capture, retakes, composition and printing. Photos and telemetry queue on the machine and upload when it next sees a connection. Your plan sets how long a booth can stay offline before it needs to check in — 24 hours on Starter, up to 14 days on Studio.

Can I edit an event while a booth is using it?

Yes. Edits go to a draft. The booth stays pinned to the published version it downloaded and only moves to a newer one between guest sessions, once it has the new snapshot in full. A half-downloaded template can never reach a guest.

Will the print match what I saw in the editor?

The editor and the booth render the same template file, described in millimetres, using the same font set and the same rendering engine. Every release is checked against reference prints pixel by pixel, so a change to the renderer cannot quietly shift your layout.

What do I need to buy to get started?

A Windows 10 or 11 machine, a webcam from the certified list and a DNP dye-sub or a borderless Windows photo printer. If you already run booths, that is usually hardware you own. DSLR support is in development and will arrive with a published compatibility tier per body, rather than a blanket claim.

Who can see my guests' photos?

You and the team members you invite. Support access is time-boxed, read-only by default, recorded in your audit history and visible to you. Retention is set by your plan and you can shorten it.

Can I change plans mid-season?

Any time, in the portal. Upgrades apply within seconds — activate the extra booth straight after. Sessions recorded by a booth that was offline for a fortnight are still counted against the month they actually happened in.
